The purpose of this project was to design a habitat for the declining population of chimney swift birds in the Bloomington area. The tower serves both as an art piece for walkers, runners and bikers along the B-line trail and as a nesting and roosting site for the chimney swifts from spring to fall. The form of the tower was inspired by the historical railroad switchyard that used to be on the site.
